Abstract
Bursty and various rate packet-based traffic has gradually increased and it can be dominant in the future wireless communications. To accommodate the packet-based traffic efficiently, we introduce our previously proposed orthogonal code hopping multiplexing (OCHM) [S. Park and D.K. Sung, Dec 2002] as a statistical multiplexing scheme for orthogonal downlink, and propose a hybrid multirate scheme for supporting variable rate transmission in OCHM by analyzing the symbol collision probability and self-interference.
