Abstract :
We propose an idea for loop filter design and a recommendation for the symbol-timing track loop based on DPLL is also reviewed. The proposed design idea results in a system of equations which can easily be solved to yield the filter coefficients while some loose constraint condition is satisfied by loop parameters. The key concept is that geometrical analysis is used to describe the optimal selection of the parameter range. We show that it is convenient to design a loop filter for symbol-timing track loop on software radio by using this idea.
