Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel UPS topology to increase outage-mode output power capacity. During normal mode, UPS provides a regulated sinusoidal voltage to the load via a voltage controlled inverter (VCI), and provides a sinusoidal line current with low total harmonic distortion via a PFC rectifier. The UPS has also been simulated to verify the feasibility of the system. The UPS also includes optimal utilisation of the power converter, equal current sharing and compact space requirements via reduced need for parallel UPS installation.
