Abstract
In the application of ITS inter-vehicle communications, the influence of multipaths should he considered due to the effect of reflection from the mad surfaces. According to the traditional pmcessing, which ovoids the influence of multipaths, space diversity technique is often applied with two or more antemas of different height. By using ad hoc network technology to avoid the influence of multipaths, it is possible to apply the mute diversity technique with the multihop communications. This paper describes fundomental measurement data of reflection characteristics on asphalt surfaces in the 2.4-GHz bond , the experimental results of spare diversity and mute diversity on the road when using WACNet (Wireless Ad hoc Community Networks) based on the ESPAR antenna[l] and 802.11b [2] ad hoc system.
