Abstract :
Effect of microwave characteristics on optical response and nonlinearity of traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator (TW-EAM) is analyzed. TW-EAM having the thickness and the width of 0.4μm and 2μm with 30Ω termination resistor, respectively, is shown as appropriate for millimeter-wave application.
