  • Abstract
    Previous participative studies concerning the intensive care nursing process revealed contextual factors influencing the behavior of the nurse (contextual cues), which were included in a model categorizing them being primarily related to the current, future, and past situation. This model is being used as an information framework for designing a new supportive system for the intensive care nursing process. In this paper, the results of three iterative design activities are described: a specification of the setting in which the envisioned product will function, a definition of the products´ main functionalities, and a vision regarding the communication of the needed information through an interface. Eventually, these product specifications are implemented as a working prototype
