Abstract
We present a novel space-time adaptive processing (STAP) algorithm that can mitigate narrowband main beam interference. The bandwidth of the main beam interference has to be less than 50% of the bandwidth of the desired signal. The performance of the proposed beamformer is compared to a previously proposed one that cannot mitigate the main beam interference, but requires an angle separation between the desired and interfering signals. The performances are compared in synchronization of direct sequence spread spectrum signals. In addition, it is shown that one sample per chip processing should be favored in the proposed beamformer since this form avoids performance losses at high signal-to-noise ratios by limiting interchip interference.
