Abstract :
We study interference impairment in a multiaccess point (multiAP) wireless network, where available bandwidth is divided to Ns channels. The medium access control (MAC) protocol of the network is carrier sense multiple access with collision avoidance (CSMA-CA). We investigate the effect of inter-cell interference (ICI) on the throughput of the network for different values of Ns. ICI reduces the duration of time the node has access of the medium and increases the probability of retransmission. We simulate a CSMA-CA network in indoor environment and find outage probability and spectral efficiency for different values of Ns.
