Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel decoding approach for coded multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems that employ low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes. In the proposed decoding approach, a code word is decoded in two steps, hard decoding and iterative decoding, based on the log-likelihood ratios of coded bits. We show that compared with conventional decoding approaches for LDPC coded MIMO-OFDM systems, the proposed decoding approach not only delivers a considerable reduction in decoding complexity but also maintains comparable performance.
