Abstract :
This paper presents a spatial polarimetric time-frequency distribution (SPTFD) based approach for direction-of-arrival (DOA) and polarization estimation of nonstationary signals with time-varying polarization signatures that are incident on an array of dual-polarized double-feed antennas. The use of a time-frequency distribution allows for the concentration of the signal energy in the time-frequency domain and the tracking of the signals´ time-varying frequencies. It also allows for the instantaneous tracking of the signal´s time-varying polarization. The proposed approach yields improved DOA and polarization signature estimation. Simulation results are provided to illustrate the performance improvement that this method provides.
