Abstract
Security and reliability are important factors for complex systems. Due to the complications encountered when attempting to create a secure and reliable embedded computing environment for intelligent vehicle systems, an efficient, trustworthy, and reliable middleware infrastructure is needed. This paper presents a trustworthy and reliable embedded middleware model for intelligent vehicle systems. TREM is service-oriented based on semantic and virtual agents, which is fully autonomous, cooperating with each other directly. Access to the service is only available to authorized entities including people, devices, or other services. Additionally, the decentralized secure mechanism and some innovative principles are proposed to realize TREM. In particular, the paper focuses on reliable cooperation protocol and policy-driven trust management method.
