Abstract
Two-dimensional and three-dimensional numerical experiments have been performed to verify the laboratory experimental results that in the nearly closed bay, the water change ability can be improved when the water depth at the bay mouth become shallower by artificial topographical change. Rate of reclamation is defined for quantitative analysis. The upper limit and best depth of the bay mouth for water exchange is determined through the relationship between the rate of reclamation and the residual average pollutant concentration.
