Abstract
Wireless technologies enable a mobile device to connect and access resources available in the environment, enabling pervasive multimedia. We first introduce a Bluetooth Jini (Java intelligent network infrastructure) profile which allows Bluetooth devices to integrate with, and discover services in, a Jini environment. Then, a peer-to-peer architecture, pervasive multimedia overlay network (PMON), connecting Jini networks for a media sharing and streaming service, is developed. This overall structure enhances pervasive multimedia for mobile devices.
