  • Abstract
In this paper, a novel two-dimensional radio resource allocation (2D RRA) algorithm in OFDM/TDMA cellular system has been proposed. The radio resource allocation of the OFDM/TDMA system is very complex as the radio resource become two-dimensional: frequency domain and time domain. The 2D RRA is an efficient way to allocate radio resources for a multicell, multiuser OFDM/TDMA system as it takes into consideration both the channel condition and the co-channel interference. This distributed allocation algorithm can make full use of scarce radio resources and improve the spectrum efficiency. It is shown from the simulation results that this resource allocation algorithm enhances the performance of the OFDM/TDMA system compared with the sequential radio resource allocation (SEQ RRA) method.
