Abstract :
There are found some attempts to utilize mega float structure, i.e. very large floating structure, for container terminal facility. However interactive motions among multiple floating bodies, consisting of vessels and a container terminal, have never been investigated enough to ensure cargo-handling efficiency. Although an evaluation theory and reliable computing code for single floating body has been already developed, the analyzer for interconnected multiple floating bodies, including the reliability of computing code, is under development. The authors presented a simplified way to make a secured evaluation for motions of a vessel moored to a mega-float container terminal. Obtained results indicated that small interaction dominated each motion except for dominance period of mooring system, and each independent motion was larger than that in consideration of interaction. It is concluded that secured evaluation could be guaranteed by separated independent analysis.
