Abstract
The Australian defence organisation is facing unprecedented challenges in dealing with changing strategic circumstances, the impact of the network-centric warfare, and the increasing cost and complexity of military materiel. The response to these challenges is to seek more structured approaches in defence strategic planning, capability development, and project execution. This work describes how modern systems engineering is being tailored to fulfill this need.
