Abstract :
It is difficult for any firms to gain competitive advantage only by internal resources with the accelerated process of integration of global economy and rapid development of information technology. To win competitive advantage firms should attach more importance to build a relationship of mutual benefit with their strategy networks. Based on the perspective of social capital, it is analyzed that firms may gain advantage of efficiency, market, resource and technological innovation in the context of synergic development using the approach of field study. A negative case study is employed to illustrate that firms should pay more attention to foster and utilize social capital for improving competitive advantage. A matrix of competitive advantage -social capital is proposed to help firms build and exert social capital for competitive advantage.
