Abstract
A novel amplitude sensitive optical heterodyne polarimeter in which a Zeeman laser associates with a balanced detector scheme to measure the optical activity |nr-nl of a quartz crystal is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The sensitivity of the measurement to 8.5×10-10 is analyzed.
