Abstract :
We propose a new optical method to indicate cross-sectional profile of the collagen fiber orientation in human tissues. This method is based on depth-resolved polarization measurement of collagen-induced second-harmonic-generation (SHG) light. To evaluate the proposed system, collagen distribution profiles in several human tissues are examined.
