Abstract
This paper describes an original method for the synthesis of a low-pass prototype network with nonresonating nodes, exhibiting the generalized Chehycheff response (i.e. equiripple passband with transmission zeros arbitrarily placed on the imaginary axis). The use of nonresonating nodes in microwave fiters (recently proposed in the literature), allows the realization of compact structures with both high atteuuation at frequencies close to the passband and low insertion losses inside the passband. Instead of optimization-based synthesis techniques, which have been used up to now, the paper introduces an analytical and direct synthesis technique of this type of prototypes.
