Abstract :
In recent years, how to speed up the process of the large images segmentation emerges as an important problem to us. In this paper, we propose a novel wavelet-based approach combined with FCM cluster methods in the large image segmentation. Considering that wavelet-based image segmentation often has very high computational complexity, especially for large images, we put emphasis on exploring the computational parallelism in wavelet-based image segmentation and implement a parallel wavelet-based image segmentation using MPI on cluster machines with the better segmentation rate.
