Human computer interaction (HCI) - aspect in developing information access system

This paper discusses the issue of the importance of good user interface. A prototype of an information access system was implemented. The methodology used in developing the system is the star life cycle. The principles used in building the system were based upon Ben Shneiderman\´s "Eight Golden Rules of Dialog Design", Deborah J. Mayhew\´s "General Principles of User Interface Design", IBM\´s "Design Principles For Tomorrow" and Brad Mayer\´s.
