Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel ML-DFE equalization technique which is capable of exploiting the multipath diversity by combining the energy of the signal received on different multipaths at the same time combating the ICI effect caused by fading dispersion in the multipath wireless channels. Some modification in the conventional DFE for making hard decisions for decision feedback is proposed which helps in reducing the error propagation effects. Effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through simulation experiments.
