Abstract :
To improve the performance of conventional soft handoff for a cellular code division multiple access system, one possible method is to adapt the soft handoff thresholds. This paper performs of soft handoff with adaptive thresholds using fuzzy inference system is analyzed. The cell breathing-based pilot signal and the traffic load balance equation are also applied in the model. The analyzed results show that the proposed method can give lower blocking probability than the conventional soft handoff. In addition, the trunk-resource efficiency is improved.
