Abstract :
The polarization diversity bi-directional antenna using two-probe excited circular ring is proposed. The antenna design and the suitable dimension for 5 GHz are presented. The electromagnetic characteristics of the proposed antenna are simulated by numerical electromagnetics code 2. The bi-directional radiation pattern can be achieved by using the long and narrow service area. The diversity antenna gains (DAG) of the proposed antenna with the angle between two probes of 90° and 120° are better than the DAG of the conventional space diversity dipole antenna by 0.44 dB and 0.90 dB, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed antenna can improve the coverage range service area as shown its effectiveness by the average bit error rate (BER).
