Abstract :
Diversity in Dielectrics and Dielectricians - For most of my career, I have been a university person. You may wonder why I write about diversity. Indeed, two letters seem to make a big difference here: "University" stems from the Latin word universus ("turned into one," "a whole") and has been used for several centuries as a short form of universitas magistrorum et scholarium ("community of teachers and students"). Today, it denotes not only an institution of tertiary learning, but also the concept of an alma mater ("kind/nourishing mother") that generates ideas and scholars by combining sciences and humanities, economy and engineering, and art and law under a single academic roof.
