Abstract :
The paper presents the development and first operation of a 118 - 178 GHz BWO-based synthesized sweep oscillator. The set-up of this oscillator and novel technical solutions introduced are discussed. The oscillator features a high output power level ( 30 mW), a fast frequency sweep (6 GHdmsec), and a hi h frequency resolution (1 Hz) and stability (10.). Compared to similar existing oscillators, the discussed one takes advantages from an advanced phase locking technique and an original high-voltage power supply for the BWO-tube.
