Abstract :
In a world-wide environment in which the competition becomes every day more aggressive, the Outdoor Unit (ODU) for low capacity digital radio has to collect several innovations in order to be competitive in terms of reliability and market price. The solution, highlighted in the paper, refers to a new family of radio transceiver based on a novel compact microwave front-end in which the major improvement refers to a 26-28 GHz I/Q direct modulation.
