Abstract
The dyadic Green´s function for a sheet electric current placed on the surface of a metal dielectric-coated circular cylinder is discussed. A new effective approximate approach is proposed for calculating the Green´s function of an electrically large cylinder in the case when the observation point is far from the source. The approach is based on a special procedure that makes it possible to extract the space and leaky wave contributions to the spatial Green´s function. The work proceeds further after the earlier development of the surface wave contribution and singularity at the origin to complete a closed-form approximate solution. The proposed algorithm is used for the moment method application toward analyzing cylindrical microstrip array antennas.
