Abstract
This paper presents two different types of low insertion loss and good return loss waveguide to microstrip transitions intended to be used for a state-of-the-art X-band cryogenic LNA with waveguide input. In this paper, the design considerations and results of measurements at 8.45 GHz will be presented. In addition, a study of the waveguide input circuit and its matching to substrate impedance is carried out at both ambient and cryogenic temperature.
