Abstract :
We propose a vacuum electronic device based on field emission mechanism for the generation or amplification of THz waves. The field emission electrons are bunching and synchronizing with THz wave through well-tailored metallic structures. The interacting structures are designed via many numerical simulations (cold test). The verification of the generation of THz waves is done using a 3D finite-difference time-domain particle-in-cell code MAGIC.
