Abstract :
A multilevel fast inhomogeneous plane wave algorithm (MLFIPWA) is applied to realize fast and accurate solutions of electromagnetic scattering from a conducting object above half space. It reduces dramatically the computational complexity of the IEM for layered medium problems, and is suitable for solving not only objects with large varying longitudinal sizes, but also stratified media with arbitrary layers. Numerical results show the validity and efficiency of the MLFIPWA.
