Abstract :
Recently much progress in the measuring of optical frequencies has been achieved owing to the use of femtosecond lasers. The paper is devoted to the development of a specialized laser based on Yb/sup 3+/ : KGW as an alternative for Ti: Sa fermosecond laser widely used now. We describe various variants of the resonator design, measure the pump power-threshold and absorption factor. Intracavity losses are also estimated.
