Laser technologies in microsurgery of extramedullary tumors

The purpose of the study was to substantiate ND-YAG laser application in microsurgery Of extramedullary tumors and to estimate its efficacy. During the period of 1988-2002 we have operated on 145 patients with primary extramedullary tumors at the age of 9 up to 72 years. The use of developed original techniques of laser surgery provides less invasive surgical approaches and considerable reduction of intraoperational blood loss.
