Abstract
In the CIinic of Neurosurgery of Novosibirsk RITO the Nd-YAG laser with wavelength of 1,06 microns was used for microsurgical removal of intramedullary tumors in 35 patients. Out of them 16 patients had astrocytoma with various grades of anaplasia, 17 - ependymoma, 1 - hemangioblastoma, and 1 - hemangiopericytoma. Our experience in application of Nd-YAG laser with wavelength of 1,06 microns for microsurgical removal of these tumors shows, that it allows to carry out their resection through sparing operational approaches and to raise the rate of total turnor removal.
