Abstract
Aerial transmission lines possess properties that can be very different from buried cables because the imperfect ground surrounding the wire affects the propagation of induced currents and charges on the cable. This makes modeling efforts more complicated for identifying the behavior of the normalized admittance and impedance of the line which depend strongly on the Earth´s conductivities and permittivities. In this paper, we shall identify the behavior of the line admittance versus the frequency, the Earth´s conductivity and permittivity. The closed-form expressions proposed have good agreement with results obtained by the resolution of the modal equation in the frequency domain
