Abstract :
In blind carrier frequency estimation at low SNR the so-called threshold phenomenon appears. Thus, if the SNR decreases, the implementation complexity must increase to keep performance. We present a maximum-likelihood based estimator which is able to reduce the threshold 2 dB without rising implementation costs.
