Abstract
Time delays between the controller outputs and the plant outputs are common phenomena in many industrial processes and are a cause of considerable difficulties in an effective control of such processes. In this paper, the design and implementation of a digital Smith predictor controller is introduced for a real water pressure control system, which has a time delay between the controller output and the plant output. The experimental result show the excellent control performance regardless of the time delay.
