Abstract
The paper proposes a novel sensorless PMSM system, driven by a matrix converter. In this paper, first, a standstill starting technique is proposed. Then, a flux/rotor position estimating technique is proposed to obtain the shaft angle of the motor and achieve a closed-loop system. Finally, a 32-bit TMS320C40 digital signal processor is used to execute the starting and sensorless techniques, and all of the control loops, including a current-loop and a speed-loop. Several experimental results are shown to validate the theoretical analysis.
