Abstract
The experimental study of surface flashover behavior of solid insulated material in a vacuum environment (4×10-4 to 3×10-1Pa) was carried out. Tests of two such insulators, nylon and organic glass, were conducted under the DC high voltage and pulsed high voltage which had the pulse width of 90 ns and the rising time of 8 ns. We display experimental data and discuss the influence of the sample construction size, θ angle, the vacuity of vacuum discharge chamber, the applied voltage, etc., on flashover voltage or flashover strength.
