Abstract
The paper reviews the methods used for radio spectrum management as applied to mobile radio. The newest approach is spectrum trading, which will start in the UK before the end of 2004. Over time, market forces should move suitable spectra from lower value to higher value use. Mobile radio would expect to benefit from such an outcome.
