Abstract :
We present our work towards developing a novel, short length, parallel concatenated modulation code that corrects and restructures the error environment using metric values derived from demodulated symbol information (Forney, G.D., Jr, Proc. IEEE, 1973). The modulation code is further concatenated to a short 63 symbol Reed Solomon code. Using this simple technique, we have achieved results comparable with turbo codes without the extended latency of the latter technique.
