Abstract :
The achievement that short message service thrived in GSM leads to the extension to PSTN. A SOC is designed based on MCS51 compatible 8 bit MCU core. Dedicated DTMF, FSK transmitter and receiver using 1 bit quantify are presented in this paper. By this way, analog to digital converter is saved and design reusability is improved remarkable. The chip in fabricated using 0.25 μm CMOS technology and the core area is 1.1 mm × 1.1 mm.
