  • Abstract
    An algorithm for image analysis that based on variogram function was proposed in this paper. Variogram function can take randomicity of the region variation and the structure of spatial distribution into account. Image data are not pure random variable, they obviously have structure features, so we can put the image data into a regional variable. We use the value of single step variogram function to describe the statistical characters of adjacent points in image, the different texture should have different value of single step variogram function, therefore in this paper we use it as main feature for image segmentation. The method has the merit of direction invariability and a higher sensitivity to different texture.
