  • Abstract
    With the increasing of on-line monitoring system, the rapidly increasing volume of the monitoring signal data causes much trouble during storage and transmission, thus the data is better compressed. In this paper, based on the idea of the lifting scheme algorithm, a new approach of data compression based on integer wavelet transform is proposed. This approach spends little memory resource of embedded instrument, thus it is suitable for the monitoring equipments in the monitoring system. It can compress different frequency bands by lossless compression method or lossy compression method, which can realize high compression radio with a little loss of important information. An example of a project shows that it has great potential in the field of data compression of on-line monitoring system.
