Abstract
According to the Wyner-Ziv theorem, two correlated sources can be compressed to similar extent no matter whether they communicate with each other or not, provided that the decoder have both compressed outputs available. In this paper, a distributed coding technique for images captured from camera array is proposed based on Wyner-Ziv coding. The proposed scheme made independent encoding, good compression efficiency and low complexity available at the encoder at the expense of a more complex decoder. Experimental result shows that proposed scheme is very suit for distributed camera array compared with conventional coding techniques such as JPEG.
