Abstract :
Scene matching is very important for automated vehicle navigation. It is difficult to carry out image matching directly between DBS (Doppler beam sharpening) images and optical images. The edge is the most fundamental characteristic of an image. We put forward a matching algorithm based on edge information which uses fractal theory for edge detection and the technology of multi-resolution to improve the image matching precision. Experimental results show that the matching algorithm is of high precision and stability.
