  • Abstract
This paper presents a mathematical model linearized to evaluate the power transfer limit (PTL) for each concerned power corridor under dynamic security constraints. Based on a normalized transient energy function (NEF), a stability index called transient stability time margin (TTM) is introduced in the PTL model for dynamic security assessment (DSA). In order to obtain the maximum capability of power transfer, a PTL computation strategy is developed, which is composed of contingency screening, sensitivity analysis and generation reallocation. Case studies on the 10-generator New England test power system are reported to show the effect of the proposed approach.
