Abstract :
Real-time billing is one of the most important functionalities in a telecommunication service system. In GPRS network, the load of billing traffic depends on the load of call traffic and the size of billing records. During busy hours, the GPRS network might not be able to transfer billing records on a timely basis if new billing records are generated too fast. This paper considers the capacity of the billing record collection and transfer system of the GPRS network. Stochastic timed Petri nets are employed to establish a template for the analysis of the capacity versus various factors.
