Abstract :
The ATLAS semi conductor tracker (SCT) consists of approximately 16000 silicon micro-strip detectors with 6.3 million readout channels, built into 4088 modules. These are arranged into 2 endcaps of 9 disks each and 4 concentrical barrel layers. A number of tests are performed before the final detector assembly. Initially, the individual components of the SCT are tested. Prior to assembly, tests on the full system setup, which includes other detectors, will be carried out. The coherent and safe operation of the detectors in each step of the tests is the basic task of the detector control system (DCS). The main building blocks of the DCS are the cooling system, the power supplies and the environmental interlock system. The main features of the SCT test setup are described and the monitoring and control systems are presented.
